Create a blog: check.
Blog on a regular basis: check.
Mention your blog on social media sites to generate an audience: check.
Get people to comment: errrrrr…
Since I’m a relatively new blogger I’m learning things on a regular basis in the blogging world, and I have noticed that blogs are either ridiculously popular with 100+ likes, plenty of comments and many many followers, or have 3 maximum likes and never a comment. So what makes a blog go from ‘you’re lucky if 5 people read your latest post’ to ‘this is a blog equivalent of a newspaper’?
I’ve been brainstorming ideas as to why some are popular and some just aren’t. Is it because you need to create a large, loyal audience/fan base then the communication will start or it is because the post are just, well, dull? Or maybe you need one person to comment then others follow? Who knows? – I obviously don’t!
It seems like in the blogging world you’ve either got it, or you haven’t. Your followers seem to grow, your likes & comments grow and you have a loyal readership, OR, you waste your time every week and basically talk to yourself but do it online. Like most of you, I’m hoping I’m the first one. Watch this space.
